Bridge Fence Instead of Border Fence

By Hector Viadiu, San Diego

Friday, May 02, 2008 | Nice article!

Would it be a good idea to use some of the fence that people want to separate Mexico from the United States on the Coronado Bridge instead?

The builders who are promoting the border fence would make as much money per foot and they later can come back to promote the border fence.

"what nonsense. One, the issues are not related, either financially or idealogically. The attempt to connect them is clumsy, misplaced, and pathetic. Two, we don't need a fence on the Coronado bridge. Those sick individuals who seek to end their lives are not motivated by the bridge or its height, but by their mental illness or despair. If we harden the bridge, they will simply go to the nearest building, or a different bridge. It would be utterly wasteful and feckless. Keep thinking. Ronald"

"Hector, you are truly funny! We need a border fence very badly, and the guards to enforce our immigragtion laws. The citizens are being led by a bunch of self-serving politicians who don't care that this country is being destroyed from within by the illegal immigration. I would also add that the first person to use the excuse that this country was founded through immigration is a moron. People forget there was no public welfare system for the immigrants to suck off of, and they worked hard to become Americans instead of trying to turn our country into theirs. Mexicans have a wonderful country, full of natural resources, go back and develop it and enjoy the beauty of Mexico. Leave us alone."

"Sometime in the recent past, Californians lost the ability to walk and chew gum at the same time, which has affected their efforts to solve any sort of complex societal woe. First things first. Build the border fence, then assemble a suicide watch of a human chain of volunteers, folding hands to discourage vertigo, to keep any wayward depondent from jumping off the Big Bridge."

"I hope none of you folks plan to have a margarita tomorrow on Cinco de Mayo. That includes you, Hector, who managed to let the dogs out by conflating the need for better suicide prevention on the Coronado Bridge with the Border Wall."

"Hector let out the true "Watch Dogs" and protectors of our country. Use legal immigratrion; go home, or there is the bridge option. "Bow Wow""
